I couldn't find a specific email address for Mina but I found the facebook page she has promoting her walks and sent a private message on here.
Hi Mina, I am a Graphic Design student at Leeds College of Art and I am currently in the middle of a brief for which I have chosen to focus on promoting and raising awareness of foraging in the Leeds area.
When searching online your website and articles about your walks and general knowledge of the subject kept popping up so I was wondering if you would be able to help me at all. I would have loved to have come on one of your walks to learn more and would definitely like to attend one when they start again next year but unfortunately the deadline for this brief is in January so I was hoping you would be able to help me with a few questions I have. I would be really grateful of your time as I appreciate you will be very busy.
What are some of the most common foods available through the different seasons in the Leeds area?
What would you suggest someone wear on a foraging trip? e.g. walking boots, etc.
I was also wondering if there are any key areas of Leeds you would suggest as best to visit to find wild foods. I can see from the research I have undergone so far that you can find edible food just about anywhere but I was planning to focus on a few key areas for this brief.
Any other hints or tips you have would also be really great.
Thank You, Samantha Walker
Hopefully I will hear back soon as it would be so helpful for the development of my project.
I have however also found Mina's twitter page which has been helpful in identifying foraging recipes and when things are in season as she posts what she has found and these obviously have dates on.
